Your Local EV Charger Installer Near You

    EV Charger Installation

Stately Group Electrical Services installs home, strata and business EV chargers across Sydney, from a 7 kW wall charger in your garage to 22 kW three-phase units and commercial fast chargers. We’re a family-owned team based in Prestons with 20+ years of experience. Every job comes with a $0 call-out fee, fixed rate pricing and a lifetime labour warranty.

Searching for an EV charger installer near you? Our electricians work out of Prestons in South West Sydney and install chargers every week across Liverpool, Western Sydney, Parramatta, the Inner West and the rest of the Sydney metro area. Because we’re local, we can usually inspect your switchboard and parking spot quickly, give you a fixed price on the spot, and book the install around your car’s delivery date.

We handle the whole job: checking your power supply, recommending the right charger, running the cable, fitting any protection your switchboard needs, notifying the electricity network where required, testing the charger with your car and leaving you with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW).

Types of EV Chargers We Install in Sydney

We don’t push one product. We install most EV chargers sold in Australia and help you pick the type that suits your car, your power supply and how far you drive.

Charger type Typical power Best for
Dedicated EV power outlet (for the portable charger that came with your car) 2.3 to 3.6 kW Plug-in hybrids and low-kilometre drivers who want the cheapest setup
Single-phase wall charger (32 A) 7 kW Most Sydney homes. Adds roughly 40 to 50 km of range per hour
Three-phase wall charger 11 to 22 kW Homes and businesses with three-phase power, two-EV households, faster turnaround (the car’s onboard charger sets the actual speed)
Smart and solar-aware chargers 7 to 22 kW Homes with rooftop solar that want to charge from excess solar or schedule charging for off-peak rates
Pedestal and post-mounted chargers 7 to 22 kW Driveways, carports, open car parks and sites with no wall close to the parking spot
Strata and apartment chargers with load management 7 to 22 kW per bay Unit blocks and townhouse complexes that need individual metering and shared capacity
Commercial and fleet chargers (networked, OCPP) 7 to 22 kW AC Workplaces, warehouses, retail car parks and vans that return to base overnight
DC fast chargers 25 kW and up Businesses, service stations and fleets that need cars back on the road quickly

Tethered or socketed? A tethered charger has its cable attached, which is handy at home. A socketed (untethered) charger suits shared car parks and households with more than one EV model.

    EV Charger Brands We Install

We’re not tied to a supplier, so we’ll recommend what fits your car and budget. We regularly install Tesla Wall Connector, Zappi by myenergi, Evnex, Ocular, Wallbox, ABB, Schneider Electric, Fronius Wattpilot and Delta chargers. Already bought a charger, or did one come with your new car? We’ll install that too, as long as it’s approved for sale in Australia.

Experts In EV Charger Installation Sydney

    Home EV Charger Installation Sydney

Most of our residential EV charger installations in Sydney are a 7 kW wall charger in a garage or carport.

Before we quote, we check four things:

    • Switchboard condition: older boards with ceramic fuses or no spare room may need an upgrade or a new safety switch before a charger can go in.
    • Supply capacity: we work out whether your home can run the charger alongside air conditioning, an oven and a pool pump, and add load management if it can’t.
    • Cable route: the distance from your switchboard to the parking spot and what’s in between (brick, slab, roof space or trenching).
    • Solar and batteries: if you have rooftop solar, a smart charger can top up your car from power you’d otherwise export for a few cents.

Detached garage, carport at the back of the block, or a granny flat in the way? We do long cable runs, trenching and sub-boards as part of the same job.

    EV Charger Installations

    Strata and Apartment EV Charging

If you live in a unit or townhouse, you’ll usually need your owners corporation’s approval before a charger goes in.

We can inspect the car park, explain the options to your strata committee in plain English, and quote either a single charger metered to your lot or a building-wide setup with load management so every resident can add a charger later without overloading the main supply.

    EV Charger Installation Sydney

Commercial and EV Fast Charger Installation

For workplaces, shops and fleets, we install networked AC chargers that track usage per driver and can bill visitors or staff.

Where cars need to be back on the road quickly, we scope EV fast charger installation (DC chargers from 25 kW up), including the supply upgrade and any application to Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy. Commercial jobs are quoted after a site visit.

How Much Does It Cost to Install an EV Charger in Sydney?

    Sydney's EV Charger Installation

A typical home EV charger installation in Sydney costs $1,500 to $4,000 all up, including the charger. Installation alone usually runs $700 to $1,500 when the charger is close to a switchboard with spare capacity. We give you a fixed price after checking your property, so the price you agree to is the price you pay.

Item Typical Sydney price (guide only)
Standard 7 kW install, charger within about 10 m of the switchboard $700 to $1,500
Charger hardware $700 to $2,500, depending on brand, power and smart features
    Three-phase 11 to 22 kW install $1,200 to $2,500 plus hardware
Switchboard upgrade (if needed) $1,000 to $3,000
Long cable runs, trenching or pedestal mounting Quoted per metre or per job
Strata, commercial and DC fast chargers Quoted after a site visit

What changes the price: the distance from your switchboard to the parking spot, the age of your switchboard, single-phase or three-phase supply, the charger you choose, and whether the cable runs through brick, slab or roof space. Across Australia, EV charger installation costs fall in a similar range; Sydney prices sit in the middle of that range.

    EV Charger Installation FAQs

Free installation offers do exist, but they’re usually tied to buying a particular car, joining an energy plan or signing a lease, and they normally cover a basic install only. At the time of writing, NSW doesn’t offer a general rebate for home EV charger installation. What we can promise is a free quote, a $0 call-out fee and no hidden costs. If your car came with a charger or an installation credit, send us the details and we’ll tell you what it covers and what, if anything, you’d pay on top.

Most Sydney homes pay $1,500 to $4,000 for a home EV charger installation, including the charger. Installation alone is usually $700 to $1,500 if the charger goes near a switchboard with spare capacity. Switchboard upgrades, three-phase chargers and long cable runs add to the cost. Stately gives a fixed price after a site check.

For a standard 7 kW wall charger on a single-phase home, expect to pay $700 to $1,500 for the installation and $700 to $2,500 for the charger itself. Be wary of very cheap quotes that skip a load check or a dedicated safety switch, and of quotes that don’t say whether a switchboard upgrade is included.

Across Australia, a home EV charger usually costs $1,500 to $4,000 installed, with the charger itself making up $700 to $2,500. Prices vary with the charger brand, the distance from the switchboard and whether your home needs electrical upgrades.

Yes. In NSW, a licensed electrician can install an EV charger, and must issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work when the job is done. It still pays to use an electrician who installs chargers regularly, because the job involves a load assessment, the right safety switch and, for larger chargers, a notification to Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy. Some brands also ask for an installer trained on their product to keep the warranty valid.

Most Sydney homes can run a 7 kW (32 A) charger on single-phase power. Your electrician needs to confirm your switchboard has room for a dedicated circuit and that your supply can handle the charger alongside your other appliances. If it’s tight, a smart charger with load management can slow charging automatically when the house is using a lot of power.

Look for a licensed electrician who checks your switchboard and supply before quoting, gives a fixed price in writing, installs a dedicated circuit and safety switch, provides a compliance certificate, and offers a warranty on their labour. Stately’s EV installs include all of these, plus a lifetime labour warranty.

Yes. For homes, the fastest AC option is an 11 to 22 kW three-phase charger. For businesses and fleets, we scope and install DC fast chargers, including any supply upgrade and network application.

A good-quality home EV charger typically lasts around 10 years or more. Manufacturer warranties usually run 2 to 5 years. Installing it out of direct sun and rain, or choosing a unit rated for outdoor use, helps it last longer.

Yes. The car and charger stop charging once the battery reaches the limit you’ve set, so leaving the car plugged in overnight or over a weekend is fine. Setting a charge limit in your car’s app and scheduling charging for off-peak hours is the best approach.

It depends on the battery type. Many EVs with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are designed to charge to 100% regularly. For nickel-based batteries, makers usually recommend around 80 to 90% for daily driving and 100% before a long trip. Always follow your car manufacturer’s advice.

Most EV batteries in Australia carry a warranty of around 8 years or 160,000 km, usually guaranteeing about 70% of the original capacity. After that the car keeps working; the battery simply holds a little less range over time. Most batteries outlast their warranty, and repairs or replacements are available if needed.

A standard home installation takes 2 to 4 hours. A switchboard upgrade or trenching can add half a day or more.

No. A single-phase home can run a 7 kW charger, which is enough for most drivers. Three-phase power lets you install an 11 or 22 kW charger if your car supports it.
